The Redmarley Church Heritage Society Open Gardens on 9th & 10th June was a great success. We had over 250 visitors – many of them thought they would look in for an hour but ended up, not surprisingly, staying all day. There were 9 gardens open with tremendous variety, from very formal to cottage.

Thanks to the garden owners who must have put in hours getting ready for the weekend. And thanks to the volunteers who did the planning, manned the ticket desk, served the prosecco in the garden at Redhill Cottage and looked after the refreshments in the Village Hall (all generously donated). Thanks also to Bell Homes who sponsored the event.
We raised over £2,600 towards the Heritage Society fund for repairing and re-opening the church tower. Grant-making bodies want to see that applicant villages like ourselves are putting in the effort and this certainly shows that we are doing that.
