Following two public meetings in Redmarley a new group has been set up to raise funds for the urgent and ongoing repairs to St Bartholomew’s church.
Following the first meeting of this new steering group on 15th May 2017 an executive committee was formed and all agreed on the name of Redmarley Church Heritage Society. The committee is headed by Hilary Morton as Chair, with Peter Condon (Treasurer), Catherine Craig (Secretary), Ann Cooper (Minutes Secretary), Rod Beardshall (Technical Advisor), Anne Jones, David Rogers, Jason Brooks and Sue Warr.
The committee will look at ways of raising funds, apply for any eligible grant funding, form a Friends group and organise activities for everyone to enjoy as we forge ahead to ensure this historic building remains open for current and future generations. Therefore a number of money raising activities will take place over the next year or so. These events will be varied and, it is hoped, will cater for all tastes and interests of our villagers. This community project will succeed with the enthusiastic support from all. Ongoing updates will be given through Leadon Life, local newspapers and the village website.

You can give us your support by joining Redmarley Church Heritage Society. Time has taken its toll over the years and a sympathetic restoration of the building, especially the tower which is on the English Heritage AT RISK register, is now essential.

• The first phase includes the tower restoration work and this could cost up to £200,000
• Comprehensive repairs are needed to the internal walls.
• Restoration of several stained glass windows is required.
• Facilities within the church are in urgent need of repair and updating.

There is a display in the church and our leaflets are available in the church and at various local retailers. Your membership donation is eligible for Gift Aid which adds 25% to the value of any gift. You can click here to download our leaflet or a joining form.
